Aug 20, 2021 On-Location Product Photography with Happy Egg
Happy hens mean Happy Eggs- and happy photographers! Something a little different from our normal studio work in Milton Keynes photographer Ellie travelled to three Happy Egg farms to capture hens in their natural habitat.
Should we book in or out of the Milton Keynes Photography studio?
Not all of our commercial photography is done in the comfort of our own studio- we’re not afraid of getting out and about, and coming to you to showcase your brand at its best.
And let’s be honest, we weren’t about to open our doors to hundreds of chickens in our studio! In this case, it is fairly obvious to see why it was best to visit the location, but for some products it may be unclear.
Sometimes, having the authenticity of the brand in its surroundings is most applicable to the message you’re trying to bet across, and we’re more than happy to oblige. We can take pictures anywhere, and the professional kit comes wherever we go. All our profession cameras, studio lighting, and even backdrops can be transported to wherever you might need us.
Things to consider for on-location commercial photography
As professional commercial photographers, we will want to make sure we can use the lighting conditions to the best of our ability, So if that means bringing studio lights with us, or using lots of natural light that your location has to offer, then we will adapt as we need to.
In this case, the majority of our images were taken outdoors, so it was utilising daylight, natural shadowed areas, and positioning ourselves behind or infront of the sun where needed.
We will always bring all the equipment we need for the shoot, and it’s only a simple chat to get all the details ironed out before we attend the shoot.
The client & requirements
They required a host of content that would not only be used for a specific area of their website, but also that would stand the test of time and give them a bank of medi ato pull from across their brand wherever it was applied.
A representative of MK21 and Happy Egg both met Ellie in three different Happy Egg hen farms in the north of the UK. We got shown shown where the hens live and lay their eggs, and of course with Happy Egg being a free range product, it meant that the hens were indeed happy, with large spaces to roam and plenty of activity areas for them to explore.
Where have the images ended up?
The on-location images can seen across their official website, and will be used on social media, advertisement, and across their marketing platforms.
