How to shoot interior photography of apartments in Milton Keynes

We shot the interiors of apartments in Milton Keynes for website and promotional use. Here’s what we think about interior photography.

Capturing the beauty and character of an interior requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of lighting and composition. To achieve the best results, we must be skilled in both traditional and modern photography techniques. One of the biggest challenges here is light.

This is because apartments are typically smaller and have fewer windows than houses, so natural light can be in short supply. To combat this, we may use a combination of artificial light sources to create the illusion of natural light. This might include the use of flash, continuous lighting, or even reflectors.

One of the keys to successful apartment interior photography is understanding the space. We took some photographs in some apartments in Milton Keynes for ShortStay MK recently as one of our regular projects.

Before taking any photographs, we would typically spend time walking through the space, taking note of any unique features or challenges that may affect the final image. This might include things like furniture placement, window placement, and the overall layout of the space.

Once the space has been assessed, we could begin to plan the shoot. This might include deciding on the best angles to shoot from, determining the best time of day to take the photographs, and selecting the right lenses and camera settings to capture the desired look and feel.

Another important factor to consider when shooting apartment interiors is the use of color. The colors of the walls, furniture, and other decor elements can have a big impact on the final image. We would make sure that the decorations all look in-keeping with each other, and even bring along extra props to help style the set, such as blankets, lamps and plants. We brought props along for this shoot from our photo studio based in Milton Keynes.
